Focus T25 Does It Work? Find Out Here…

One of the things that drew me to Beachbody’s new Focus T25 workout was the fact that it required very little of my time – 25 minutes a day, five days a week (technically 6, if you include the stretching day). As I said in my longer T25 review, I’d been going through a “not really working out because I’m apparently too busy” phase, so the idea really appealed to me. Coupled with the fact that it’s designed by Shaun T, whose Insanity Workout I was just crazy about, it seemed like it might be perfect. Still, that’s not a ton of time for a serious workout, so naturally I was asking the same question you’re probably asking- Focus T25 does it work?

What Is It You’re Looking For?

Let’s face it- exercise is not a zero sum game. If you’ve been sitting on your ass, and you start doing some kind of activity, almost anything at all, for 25 minutes a day, it’s going to improve your health and fitness. You don’t need to shell out any money to figure that out. I know if I’m going to invest in a fitness product, I want it to give me significant results. Let’s look at just what it is that T25 promises:

●    Significant weight loss
●    Visibly improved muscle tone and strength
●    Increased endurance and improved cardio health
●    With the optional Gamma Cycle, even more improved muscle tone for that ripped look, as well as further increased strength.

Here’s What It Did For Me

Within the first week of getting started with the program, I could already feel my muscles getting firmer. The intense combination of strenuous cardio intervals and strength training was leaving me with that familiar pleasant soreness that let me know it was working immediately.

Another pretty damn good indicator this was going to help me lose weight were the puddles of sweat I’d drip onto the floor during each session!

If you’ve done other Beachbody workouts, you know they come with a bunch of DVDs that ramp up in intensity as you follow the recommended schedule, and T25 is no different. I pushed as hard as I thought I could, only be forced to push harder. Believe me, even if you skip weighing yourself for most of the program, you will know it is working. You will feel it!

Get To The Results Already…

I know, I know, you want numbers. It’s one thing to say, “Yeah, I lost weight,” but of course you want some hard data so you know if it was worth it.

By the time I had completed the main program, I had dropped 3 pants sizes and 16 pounds! That’s in just two months!

I also did the optional Gamma Month, and though I’m not sure I can recommend it to everyone due to the very high level of intensity, it helped me drop another 3 pounds, while also building up a frankly shocking amount of muscle for such a minimal-equipment program. I got ripped, and my strength reached Hulk-like levels!

But Brian, I’m Just A Normal Person, Not A Fitness Buff…

I mentioned that I was getting out of shape when I started, but that’s definitely a relative thing. I’m still a guy who is into fitness enough that I run this site with my wife, and I’ve been exercising on and off (mostly on) pretty steadily for the last few years.

So you may be out there thinking, “Well, maybe it works for a health fanatic like this dude, but it’s probably not my speed…”

That’s exactly the kind of thinking that will prevent the program from working!

Shaun T has years of experience as a personal trainer under his belt, and he designed Focus T25 with pretty much everyone in mind. Whether you’re a regular exerciser or somebody who has fallen so out of shape you think you’ll never catch up, this is aimed at you.

If you’re worried about not being fit enough to do all the moves, have no fear, because at any given moment one of his workout buddies behind him is doing an easier alternate move. Do the easy move as long as you have to until you’re ready to step up to the next level.

If you think you’ll just get too tired (after all, there are no built-in breaks with this one), don’t worry about that, either. If you need a break, take one! The next time you do the workout, you’ll find that maybe you don’t need one. Every day you do this, you will get better at it.

I always think of fitness as a road. It’s not a teleporter. Whether you choose Focus T25 or a different exercise regimen, you won’t reach your goals instantly. But keep traveling, stay motivated, and you will get there!

This Program Is As Effective As You’re Willing To Be

Don’t think you can just phone it in and do a half-assed job and still get the kind of results I’m talking about. Yeah, like I said, any daily exercise is going to make you healthier, but if you’re not giving it your all, it’s not going to get you back into the shape you were in high school.

Because the workouts are so short and streamlined, it’s more important than even with a program like P90X or Insanity to really push yourself hard. The entire goal is to fit the benefits of an hour long workout into less than half an hour, and there’s no magic set of moves that can make that happen if you’re not willing to work for it.

If you are willing to work for it, though, there’s no other workout this short that will give you results like these (and if I find one, I’ll certainly be the first to scream about it to let everybody know!)

So, Focus T25 does it work? Definitely. The only caveat is that you’re going to have to really work for those 25 minutes a day if you want to really lose a bunch of weight, build endurance and tone up.
